Remarkable! There was a feature in the NY Times today on this: http://www.nytimes.com/2013/06/16/books/review/prison-library-at-guantanamo.html...

Perhaps it should be added to Legacy Libraries?

I've been trying to get a hold of a list. Anybody feel like submitting a FOIA request? :-)

I'd be glad to give it a try, after I've finished the projects I have with June 30th deadlines -- but one could start with the books seen in the Tumblr blog. And it would be useful if someone could read Arabic, too, I'd think! Ill ask around and see if there might be anyone who might have more info.

From the New York Times article:

"while others have asked for skiing, surfing and mountain-climbing magazines, “because they never see nature.” His client Shaker Aamer, a former resident of Britain, took a liking to George Orwell. “I sent him a copy of ‘1984,’ and he said he read it about three times and that it perfectly captured the psychological reality of being at Gitmo,” Remes said. "

Anything we can do for these poor fellows...

I thought this was to be closed by the great leader!
