Has anyone here read Cinder by Marissa Meyer? We just got it in at my library and it looks interesting.

I liked it a lot. It's an interesting dystopian take on the fairy tale, with a strong central character. I didn't really like the cliff-hanger ending, but that's normal in this Age of Sequels.

I'm glad for the heads-up. I just ordered it from the library. Sounds good.

I thought it was an enjoyable read, but not one of my favorite books.

I enjoyed reading Cinder; however, I found the author's misuse of words annoying. For example she used "coronated" when "crowned" would have been the appropriate word choice. A king is crowned at his coronation.

5:  I blew through it in one sitting, but I agree, that was pretty annoying.  I also didn't care for the font she chose for publication.  It took a while to get used to.

I read Cinder. I really enjoyed it. I read only 1 or 2 YA books a year, but Cinder was definitely worth it.

I'm digging for more since my nephews are getting older, and I'd like to have a solid lineup for my goddaughters.

If you overlook the politics, which is actually pretty key to the story, it's an okay read. The setting of the story is in an absolute monarchy, seems to be no parliament to speak of. The head of state and head of government is the Emperor of the Eastern Commonwealth, rather than the Emperor of an Empire? At one point the Queen of England is involved in a meeting with heads of state trying to prevent war, which would indicate she has more power in the future than today. Besides this silliness it's okay.

I greatly enjoyed all 3 book that have been released thus far. It is a great spin on the traditional fairy tale and let's be honest, there are CYBORGS and you gotta love a good cyborg tale! You will fall in love with each new heroine and their adventures in saving earth from the horrid Queen Levana. Get lost in them and enjoy! (Would also be great to read with your kids!)

Y'all don't even understand. How is it not like the best book you have ever read. And the one person that said you didn't enjoy the "cliffhanger", well that's only because she wrote an entire series explaining the rest. You cant NOT finish the series, like it gets a lot better after cinder. Keep reading the series and I think you all will start to understand. And also about the font, every author chooses what font they would like their books to be in and that was her choice and I think it was a wonderful one. So guys really, I think you would be missing out to only read the first book in the series. The story has barley begun. You will meet so many more characters and eliminate the ability to put the books down. So yea guys, rethink your decision before you go and say its "okay to read" it is alot of effort for these authors to write such beautiful books. And wifilibrarian, well I don't know what to say about your reply because the politics are like the main point of the story and you have to understand them for Cinder to overthrow (kill) Levana and become the queen of Luna. And also you KariBonallo thanks for saying they are awesome, you will fall in love, and you enjoyed the books you have read so far, but I really think you should finish the entire series. Thank you for reading.
