LauraNav - Reading the ones I already own

Just the thing, this group, although I'm a wee bit late to the party.

I'm not clear yet on the tickers and group stats, so I'll just post on my thread until I get a better picture.

Stats for the year - not too refined:
17 from the library
11 borrowed (my aunt's husband keeps handing me stacks of books, and they are good, so I can't say no)
14 of my own books!

Of that 14:
9 were owned before 1/1/2012
6 have been purchased in 2012
Not great but not bad, at least older books outnumber newer books :-)

Goal for 2012 would be 30 books owned before 2012.
I would also like to read 80% of the books I purchase in 2012. (Otherwise, I keep falling behind :-)

That means I need to track my 2012 purchases of course.

For now, I have read 9 of my 30 goal. That can be the official number tracked here in BOMBS.
And I'll do a little tracking of 2012 purchases read just for a little accountability.

Ack - I've bought 20 books in 2012! (+ an LT ER and a Christmas gift for a total of 22 new books) How did that happen?!?
6 of 22 is not a good number.
Although, 2 were today - two hard cover Diana Wynne Jones books at the library for $1 each - what a find!

Still - I must find my self-control, I'm sure it's around here somewhere.

Hi - thanks for dropping by (oh so long ago).
Not sure I've had any luck finding my self-control. Although I hadn't bought any new books in April until yesterday (when I bought 3).

I read two books bought in 2012. But I've now bought 25 books in 2012, so that makes 8 of 2012.
I didn't read any books purchased before 2012, so still sitting at 9 of 30.
pre-2012 BOMBS 9 of 30 = 30%
2012 8 of 25 = 32%
Time to get cracking!

Pre-2012 BOMBS up to 11 out of 30 = 37%
2012 up to 16, total bought is up to 29 so that is 55%
The 2012 # is making me feel a little bit better about the pre-2012 number. At least I'm reading something off my shelves.

Pre-2012 BOMBS up to 15 out of 30 = 50%!!

2012 read is 23, but acquired is 34 (where do they come from?) - still = 68% isn't too bad.

Well, July wasn't a great month for BOMBS.

0 older books, so still sitting at 15 out of 30.
up to 28 purchased in 2012 which is 76%, so close to my desired percentage.
Of course, acquired went up to 37
