If you're here, you're probably interested in knowing that Penguin issues a free catalog of the Classics Penguin Classics: A complete annotated listing.
It's a perfect-bound trade paperback, ISBN-ified and everything. Mine is the 2003 edition - it claims that there are "more than 1,300 titles in print".
(I assume that you can pick it up in bookstores or request it from Penguin, but I got my copy in a library sale.)
Which leads to the next question: does anyone here on LT have the complete set? It was offered through Amazon about a year ago.

Last I checked, it's still offered on Amazon. (It's on my wishlist, just in case I ever win one of those "win your wishlist" contests...)

I have a late 1990s copy of the catalogue, complete with many crossings out and annotations of my own... I haven't actually spotted one since, but I'll look out for one next time I'm near a decent bookshop.

debweiss has the full set (see her post). I've never heard of the catalog - thanks for mentioning it.

NPR's "All Things Considered" did a story on The Complete Penguin Classics, maybe a year? ago.
And listening to it, I had a wave of Booklust that subsided only after I consoled myself that I had managed to put together about as many as I was ever likely to read.
And I just KNEW that somebody on LT would have the Complete Set. I guess I should send her an invitation.
