MAY group read: AGNES GREY - General Thread

Here's a general thread we can use for our group read of Agnes Grey by Anne Bronte. I received my copy as a Christmas gift, so I'm looking forward to starting it.

I downloaded the Project Gutenberg version for my ereader. I'm looking forward to it, too. It will fill in a gap in my reading. I've read books by both of her sisters, but none by her.

I've gotten my copy down off of the shelf and am ready to go.

I'm in also.

I'm picking up my copy from the library tomorrow.

I'm planning to join in on this as well. I have Agnes Grey on my kindle. cbl_tn, I've also read books by the other Brontes, but nothing by Anne Bronte yet. Looking forward to it!

Didn't make it to the library today as planned. I'll get my copy sometime next week.

I am hoping to join in, too. I will be out of town for lots of May, so I might get a late start.

Just found this thread - I've never read anything by any of the Bronte's but this caught my eye this morning. I've ordered it from the library and it will be here in a couple of days. What is the protocol here? A certain portion of the book completed by a certain date to be discussed as a group, or just comments as we go on our own pace?

I've been reading a lot of testosterone-infused thrillers lately, so I'm ready for something gentler. Looking forward to this one.

Could we have a thread for the first half, say, through chapter 11 The Cottages, and another for those who have finished? It's a shortish book and I'm finding it a quick, engrossing read, so I don't think we need to break it down any further.

If no one objects, I'll set up the threads later today.

Just started, I'm about 7 chapters in now. It's going well so far.

I'm in, I've been wanting to read some titles by the Bronte sisters, so I thought perfect time to start.

Starting late, but its better than not starting at all... :)
