Has anyone else finished it yet? There sure is a lot to talk about; it is very different from the previous books.

I read it. I liked it better than First Among Sequels, but not as much as I liked the first three books.
SPOILER: It was kind of weird, reading a Thursday Next book that wasn't about the real Thursday!

I enjoyed it, but not as much as the others. I don't like the written Thursday as much as the real Thursday, but I do think that having a more geographical BookWorld will make the subsequent books better.

#5 -- I really liked the map of Bookworld, but I'm not sure what I think about changing the layout of the Bookworld at this point in the series. Like most of my species, I am resistant to change. :-)

i enjoyed it a lot. i haven't read the previous 2 since they came out originally, but i remember being a bit underwhelmed by them. i think i felt as if they were starting to get bogged down... but i need to reread to confirm or change my position.
this one was fresh and interesting, though. there were a few bits where i felt it lost the plot a bit, but overall i thought it was a very interesting premise.

Just finished it tonight. Loved it and it's new angle on things. By concentrating on Bookworld and the written Thursday Next it gave the series a whole new angle for me. I also loved the addition of Sprockett to the novel and his emotional meter above his eyebrow.
(Slight spoiler ahead)
By reporting that the series did not contain references to Landon or Bookworld or Bradshaw then at the end having Jurisfiction agree to a re-write it alllows you to picture how the TN books I have read DO contain those references!
Laugh out loud line was the beginning of Chapter 39: The trip back downriver was uneventful and over in only twelve words.--perfectly encapsulates the self-referential nature of this whole series.
