Isn't it great? My fear would be that the top would end up with gacked-up 'presents' that I wouldn't find for months at a time.

How about - (group picture size)

I like #7 very much!

It may be just me...but I like when used books show some character and I don't like used book stores to look to organized.
Having said that, I like the image in the #2 treehugger link and the #6 google link.

I'm voting for the treehugger shot from #2. Not only will it look good in here it will look great in miniature on the Groups page. #7 is nice, but when it's shrunk down to a thumbnail it won't be readable or even identifiable, I fear.
12WholeHouseLibrary
I just set the height and width parameters in #7 to match that of the Group Picture for the Green Dragon. It looks pretty clear to me. Regarless, I'm not going to lose any sleep if it isn't selected.

Oh, I have no doubt it will look great on the group page, but I worry about it being shrunk for this page: http://www.librarything.com/groups Sorry, I should have clarified. That's the size I meant by thumbnail.
I also have no problem with whatever people decide.

Just tried it in Thumbnail size. (40x40) It came out the same as #7 (250x198).
Ah well...

This is a preview only, and it will be skewed a bit because I'm pretty sure LT trims the ends.

Definitely then - the treehugger one.
Too bad Tim hasn't got code in place to magnify a thumbnail when you hover over it.

The treehugger one would be my second choice.

Oh dear. If we are looking at them reduced to that size, the treehugger one isn't very easy to "read" either (I couldn't tell what it was until I looked at the larger size). Maybe this picture from a used bookstore in Madison, Wisconsin would be suitable?

I can still see it at Flickr's 75 x 75 size, idk about the tiny tiny size.
I took the picture in 2009 - the bookstore looks pretty much as it did when I was a student at UW in the 1970s.
