(What a strange person you are, to find peace in such a literal-minded missing of the point!)

The owl in the verse is at least wise enough to speak little:

"Better to keep silent and be thought a fool than open your mouth and prove it."

(By the way, wisdom is not even correlated with intelligence, never mind brain size.)

Owls are silent because they are dull-witted.

I prefer accuracy in metaphors, especially if I am going to be one, or not, othewise what is the point?
