New Here, Few Questions...

I'm a new member to Library Thing and the Early Reviewers, I have looked and looked but don't really see a guide for new users but I just have a few questions most specifically about the arcs offered on the website.

1. What are your chances of getting an ARC? (I read the faq concerning this but still not sure what the odds are of a new member getting any books)

2. Should I request every book on the offer list, because I didn't I selected a large amount but some I didn't think id be interested enough to finish so I didn't select them.

There is actually an Early Reviewers group that can better answer questions specific to that program, this is more of a general group for people who review/evaluate books from authors and publishers.

However, to answer your questions, it isn't really possible to pin down your chance of receiving books because the number offered, the number of people requesting, and how well the offered books match your library will vary each month. One thing we do know is that the algorithm tries to determine the best reviewer for each book, based partly on how well your library matches the book and similar books, so it would be enormously helpful in your chances if you catalogued more books.

For your second question, it is generally considered best to only request books in which you have a legitimate interest. It really isn't worth a free book to have to read and review something you could not care less about.
