SantaThingSantaThing Entry #152

Book tastes

Rediscovering my love for science fiction right now, so recently published (2015 or later) books in that category is what I would like. Preference to women and BIPOC authors.
ETA: I have added a couple of things to my wishlist that are available for cheap at Kenny's, cause picking for my Santee reminded me how frustrating it is to hit a specific total.

Don't get this!

Andy Weir.
Becky Chambers’ Wayfarers series.
Classics like Heinlen, Asimov, etc. as I read all that years ago before I started tracking books on here.
Hardcovers (unless its less than 200 pages).
The Stone Earth trilogy by NK Jemisin (family is getting me that for Xmas).

Other notes

I'm on a far-too-long waitlist at the library for:
All Systems Red by Martha Wells
A Psalm for the Wild-built by Becky Chambers
The Adventures of Amina Al-sirafi by S.A. Chakrabothy
and would welcome the chance to get my hands on those sooner than 6 months. (Especially Amina Al-sirafi since it's out in paperback in Ireland but not in Canada and even though it’s technically fantasy and not sci-fi)

Secret Santa
