A combination of my husband's books and mine. There's an emphasis on health, faith, human rights, and African history, though we're both also very interested in world history at large. I'm trying to encourage my husband to borrow books from our local library instead of buying indiscriminately but we've been bad about that in the past year.

I'm a 3rd-year medical student trying to find time to read things other than textbooks and journal articles. Often that just means our weekly New Yorker and Newsweek, but every now and then, I get a good book in. The reading feeds my writing, and you can find my blog at www.anastamosis.blogspot.com.

I grew up in Iowa, but I've lived in Boston for the past six years for school. I love to swim and hike and do other outdoorsy things when the weather allows. I also like pretending to be a food critic.

I'd love to get recommendations on good books about East, Southeast, and South Asia, especially!
