About My Library
13.8.2021 Your library has reached 1600 titles.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I enter every book that I acquire into LibraryThing. The longer I have been retired the more I enjoy the cataloguing features of LT. From time to time I have a go at adding the books I collected before I joined. I don't know how to describe objectively my collecting/reading interests.
-----------------------------------------------------------
But this is what I wrote when I first joined LT:

My personal library is never going to be catalogued! I spent 34 years in library cataloguing and don't want to bring that "burden" into my personal collection. But I'll probably be tempted to use it for drawing attention to my "finds" from my recreational reading of Canadian or French books.

The library I used to work for is: Big. Academic, post-secondary. Part of the central library system within a larger decentralized campus libraries setup. The group of librarians I work with are using LibraryThing for our small in-house professional reading collection.

The librarian volunteer at our parish church library was thinking of converting cataloguing to LibraryThing. So I needed to become more familiar with it.
