About My Library
Reading is an essential part of my life. For pure enjoyment, I tend to historical fiction, mysteries and espionage, and the occasional thriller. Occasionally, I will choose a more literary work. Periodically, I read serious history--especially focusing on the period, 1935-1945 as well as biography and communications. (I earned more than 30+ graduate credits in Media Studies.)
About Me
I have now been living on Maryland's Lower Eastern Shore for more than five years, and I am a very different person from the one I was when I lived in New York City. I have become passionately involved in creating visual art. I often work in the style of pointillism, usually with artists' markers. This technique, developed by the French Impressionist artist Seurat and others, is somewhat unusual today. I recently opened a shop on Etsy.com (https://www.etsy.com/shop/WordsandAbstracts?ref=search_shop_redirect) in which I make available more than 20 of my artworks for sale as art prints. In addition, I have a website, wordsabstracts.com, the home of my weekly blog, Points of Color, and a gallery of my artworks. For most of my career in NYC, I promoted cultural and educational organizations. I served at The New School as director of advertising and editorial director for 15 years and also worked at G. Schirmer, Inc. (as advertising/promotion manager) and The Jewish Museum (as senior manager, creative services). I have two daughters in their 20s: one is a reader the other not.
