About My Library
Although this list is currently mystery-intensive, that is because you can gulp them quickly. The writers seem to be more prolific and are certainly more available in the average public library. However, my first (book) loves are fantasy and science fiction, especially ones with animals. I believe animals make life and stories much richer. It's the main flaw I find in the Modesitt books, although he is otherwise one of my favorites.

I am in a paring-down phase of my life, so this list is mostly books that I have read recently. My goal is to have less books [gasp]. I know that this is a shocking concept to many LT members, LOL. There was definitely a time when my ideal home would have been rooms lined with books, but I have learned that I am happier and think more clearly in an uncluttered place.

That said, I have found it very difficult to release my possessions (especially my books) without finding them good homes. I also find that making a list is an important part of the process. Not to mention that I hate reading a book only to realize that I am actually reading it AGAIN [sigh]. Not that there's anything wrong with that! I just prefer to do it on purpose.
About Me
I am a technical writer, so I prefer amusing and light "off-duty" reading. Years ago, my job was so reading-intensive that I couldn't read at home. It is the only time when I wasn't in the middle of several books at a time. Many years ago, my mom used to sigh when she saw how quickly I finished a book. Then she decided that I "got my money's worth" from books since I would read them over and over again.
