About Me

I love outdoor sports and meeting people from all walks of life.

Back in 2004, I had a beer and a Cuban cigar with H.M. Juan Carlos, the King of Spain and persuaded him to use his influence to jump start a professional sailboat racing circuit in Europe known today as the Audi Medcup. Several hundred thousand people visit the race villages as the circuit travels to countries bordering the Med each summer.

Then a few years ago, I thought of the original idea for Walt Disney Pictures "Morning Light" produced by the late Roy. E. Disney and his lovely wife Leslie- both became very good friends of mine as we worked on the movie.

Roy would receive lots of calls to make movies since he was the head of animation at Disney for 25 years. But being a sailor himself he fell in love with my idea to tell the real life story of what happens to a bunch of 18 year kids racing a high performance sailboat against professional sailors in the 2500 mile Transpac Race from Los Angeles to Hawaii. He and his talented wife,a film-maker in her own right, produced the movie.

I grew up in a middle class, large Catholic family in Los Angeles, California and graduated from Loyola Marymount University Los Angeles. My mom was a school teacher and my late father was an engineer at Lockheed Corporation and designed top secret airplanes for the infamous Skunk Works- which in turn was funded by the CIA.

For nearly 20 years I am blessed with a beautiful and lovely wife and we have two great teenagers that are the lights of our world.

Wayward Son is my debut novel (first in a series) and has been a labor of love.
