About My Library
Some how I thought that by recording my books that I'd be able to get rid of the ones I no longer wanted to read, and all and all just help me slim down my library a bit. While this process has helped it's also hindered me a bit, I'll get rid of a bag of books only to log on here and look around and make a list of more books I want (yeay for Half Priced Book Stores, 25% off days and gift cards!)So now I have no less and no more books then I originally started off with *L* and besides that I have a weakness for books the way most women have a weakness for shoes, especially when I can find a real good deal, say the whole 1998 "World Book Encyclopedia" collection A-Z for less then $5 originally owned by the local library, or in general 6-7 books for under $5 including tax, I mean how can a girl pass up deals like that, I'd be insane not to take advantage of prices like that! And thus why I'm in constant flux of buying/getting rid of books!

My biggest problem is not the acquisition of books or thinning out of books but the actually reading of! But I have been getting better at this, Recently I just acquired a Tape Recorder, so I'll read a chapter silently in my head, go back and re-read the chapter aloud in my Tape Recorder, then go back one more time and re-read the chapter with the taper recorder on play listening to my voice as I read, I do this mainly bc for some reason I have a hard time remembering things, I can read a 200 page book in a day flat but 5 days later ask me to recall anything of the book I read and I can only remember about 25% of it, what’s the point of reading if you cant remember what you read right? So this method while tedious and slow (and thus sometimes frustrating) makes me feel as if I've actually accomplished something after having read a book =)

Um, okay well I'm not quite sure what next to say so I think I'll just leave this as it is
