About My Library
My library has evolved over the years as have my interests and needs. The basic concentrations are science, languages, and history. Over the last few years I have become more interested in philosophy and biographies. There are still a lot of other things, lots of literature, and some of just about everything else.

Since I joined in 2007, I tried to remain a purist and enter only paper books that I actually own. I guessed my library would amount to somewhere between one and two thousand books (which has since swelled to well over 3000). Now, almost 15 years later (3/2/2022), I have bowed to the digital revolution and begun cataloguing ebooks and audiobooks. I have downloaded a lot off of Internet Archive, but I am not entering them. Someday I may start entering them, as well as books that I've read, but no longer (or never did) own (I'm an incurable packrat, so that last category will be rather sparse anyway).
About Me
Chemist several years retired from industry. I'm interested in science, languages, history, military stuff, politics, music, and environmental issues. Lately, I've been studying a lot of history and philosophy of science.

The picture on the top left, by the way, is of Clancy, also known as the Clancemeister as well as several other pet (no pun intended) names. He also answered to "Your Majesty" (seriously).

Sadly, Clancy is no longer with us, having gone on to the Rainbow Bridge on Christmas morning, 2007, but he will live forever in the hearts of all who knew him. And as Babe Dahlgren had the task of taking over for Lou Gehrig, so did Travis (top right) have the task of filling the hole left by the Meister's departure. He did not, of course, replace Clancy. Instead, he carved out a niche of his own. He moved on to the Rainbow Bridge in August 2020.

At the bottom is Molly, Clancy's "little sister," later Travis' "big sister" (by age). Unfortunately, Molly also left us in December 2015, at the respectable age of 16 years, 9 months, and 21 days.
