About My Library
I have more "unread" books in my library than "read". I'm such a slow reader. The books in my library are books that I actually own. The list of books I indicate as "read" during a certain year is not going to be a complete list for that year since anything I borrowed will not be represented. If I've read it but didn't give it a star rating - I just can't remember.
I love that I can "tag" my books, here, and so arrange them in different ways which is difficult in my actual physical library. I've told my husband, "There are never too many ways for me to look at my books."
Some favorites: The Sparrow by Mary Doria Russell, Bel Canto by Ann Patchett, We Need to Talk About Kevin by Lionel Shriver, The Sweet Hereafter by Russell Banks, Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov, Cast of Shadows by Kevin Guilfoile, Oryx and Crake by Margaret Atwood, The Unit by Ninni Holmqvist, The Road by Cormac McCarthy, Into the Forest by Jean Hegland, The Stand by Stephen King, Jude the Obscure by Thomas Hardy, Hinds' Feet on High Places by Hannah Hurnard, Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, 1984 by George Orwell, Nickel and Dimed by Barbara Ehrenreich, Conversations with Anne Rice by Michael Riley, Under the Banner of Heaven by Jon Krakauer, Nothing to Declare by Mary Morris, The City of Joy by Dominique Lapierre. Just a few of them . . .
About Me
I finally put up a new profile picture. That is my cute husband reading a book while lying on a picnic table. Both of us have a book with us at all times. We had gone on a road trip and found a park on the lake. We'll take any opportunity to stop our lives for a bit and read together.
