- About My Library
- I started only adding recent reading on Consciousness, Culture & Civilisation texts. Then, as I added more and peeped into the lists of others with similar titles, I've found so many titles I've read and enjoyed once or twice in the past though no longer have the books.
So, I've added more and enjoyed the memory of novels, plays, poems, visual art texts sit to the side for play. I haven't added the recreational reading list of crime fiction. - About Me
- Now retired after a career in arts management. My reading is shifting from plays and novels and visual arts texts. I'm interested in the happenchance of 'life' generally and specifically in how (why) homo sapiens sapiens emmerged as the dominant species and, in such a short period of cosmic time, have become plague.
Consciousness seems a key factor. With an ability in conceptual representation of another, symbolic thought, and language seems to have lead to anchor culture in a geographic and mental place which in turn has led, several times, to a civilisation.
Self and representations of self in a context extenuate placing self in a real and mythicl place - in a continum of spac(s) and time. Thought and belief systems have moved masses by words and force, lies and truths, into behaviours which have created and desecrated. - Sijainti
