We are a new small press.

111Publishing was named after a series of guidebooks, whose titles are all starting with “111 Tips” and is a sequel of a book and magazine publishing company, founded in the 1980’s in Europe.

Our publishing company is located in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, Canada. We are committed to publish & market books and to help authors on their way to success.

Books that explain our culture; that illuminate, inspire, provoke, and entertain. Our mission is to provide a consummate publishing experience for our authors, one truly devoted to thoughtful partnership and cutting-edge promotional sophistication that reaches as many readers as possible. For readers, we aim to spark that rare reading experience—one that opens doors, transports, and possibly changes their outlook on our ever-changing world.

Self-publishing your first book can be a daunting experience. There are so many moving parts and things to keep in mind… Let me help you make this experience just a little less scary!

And Other Stories publishes some of the best in contemporary writing, including many translations. We aim to push people’s reading limits and help them discover authors of adventurous and inspiring writing. And we want to open up publishing so that from the outside it doesn’t look like some posh freemasonry. For example, as we said in this piece in The Guardian, we think more of the English publishing industry should move out of London, Oxford and their environs. In 2017 we moved our main office to Sheffield and found such a warm welcome. The move also helped us discover great new writing from the North of England, including Tim Etchells’ Endland, Amy Arnold’s Slip of a Fish and Rachel Genn’s What You Could Have Won.

Here at ArbeitenZeit, we love to read. We love the media that traditionally have given us the opportunity to read: books, newspapers, magazines, journals, and all the other methods devised over the years to get typeset words onto paper. We especially love the books on our shelves. It saddens us that we, as readers, become increasingly less tolerant of the cost and physical bulk of new hardbacks. It saddens us, too, that youngsters today are less likely than those of the past to begin their reading lives with a bound volume in a Carnegie Library. Even so, much as we may regret the transformation of the old traditions, it's important to acknowledge that people still read. In fact, the convenience of new delivery methods is making reading even more pleasurable for many of us.

As both readers and publishers, we think it's great that there are more choices today than ever before. We're delighted to be taking part in this reading revolution. Our goal is to reach the widest audience by issuing materials in various formats. After all, what matters is the story!

Now an imprint of Random House, Ballantine Books was established in 1952 by the legendary paperback pioneers Ian and Betty Ballantine, publishing original works of both award-winning fiction and nonfiction in both hardcover and paperback formats under one umbrella.

The most interesting thing about Bancroft Press is that, as of 2014, the company has survived for twenty-three years without a niche. The more time spent in the industry, the more one understands how rare that is. So many publishers are focused on having a brand – that is, they only publish sci-fi, or they only publish romance. And if we’re talking small publishers, they rarely publish fiction at all.

It’s useful to have a focus. You probably become more of a recognized name as a publisher that way. You develop a certain company loyalty. But – there are a lot of great books you don’t publish.

Bancroft Press publishes titles we’re passionate about. That’s it. And we’ve stuck around for twenty years on this principle: Publish What You Love.

Now an imprint of Random House, Bantam Books was established in 1945 by Walter B. Pitkin, Jr., Sidney B. Kramer, and Ian and Betty Ballantine as an exclusively mass-market paperback reprint publishing house before it began publishing other original works of fiction and nonfiction in all formats.

The Bantam Books imprint boasts the entire Louis L’Amour library as well the blockbuster novelists Janet Evanovich, George R. R. Martin, and Dean Koontz; and also includes the work of Professor Stephen Hawking and recent Pulitzer Prize winner Dan Fagin.

Bantam Books was founded in 1945 and is now part of the Randham House Group of publishers.

Today the Bantam Dell group is publishing fantastic, award- winning Science Fiction and Fantasy, including works by Samuel R. Delaney and R.A. MacAvoy. Some of the more familiar Bantam imprints are: Spectra, Dell, and The Dial Press.

Many of our authors are not yet established, perhaps just beginning their publishing career. An important factor in our decision to publish a book is the author's level of commitment to marketing and sales. It is important for an author to be committed to their book's success. After all, we don't live in a world of if-you-print-it-they-will-come, but rather a world where a publisher and author must work together to help potential readers discover a new and undiscovered talent.

After waving a fond farewell to her former publisher, she set up Bell Jar Books to issue new editions of her first three novels and to publish her fourth book: God of Fire.
