Ten-year-old Marcus has spent much of his life dreaming of becoming a knight who fights dragons, but having enough food for his family to eat would be great too. Unfortunately, his father always says money doesn't grow on trees.

One day a Wish Fairy named Zelna shows up and announces that she will grant him a special wish. With his new gift, Marcus realizes he can now prove his father wrong! But as always with fairies, there's a catch. If Marcus doesn't follow the rules and take care of the magical Money Tree, everything he's earned could go away again and the whole village could end up worse off than before.
