This is to see if there are any takers for the recently deceased Gilbert Sorrentino as the greatest American novelist of all time.

I love Carver, I revere Coover, I admire Pynchon but Gilbert is the daddy of them all for me - Burroughs, Mathews, Gysin, Gaddis - good guys all but Gilbert is the man for me.
