The Lost Literature of Medieval England Tekijä: R. M. Wilson
A helpful index to works of mediaeval English literature of which we no longer have the texts. It should be stressed that this covers only those works which we know about; Wilson does not undertake to guess about what the overall state of, say, poetry under Alfred was, or what must have existed to provide the links between Layamon's Brut and Sir Gawain And The Green Knight.
The chapter on lost heroic literature is fascinating, and links to Tolkien's use of Wade. The chapters on other types of literature are of less interest to me
personally.
