Will W. Slater (1885–1959)

He was reared on the farm, worked hard until he was 21 years old. He began the study of vocal music, learned it, began teaching and have taught more than 140 sessions of singing schools and normals, with more than 8,000 students under my tuition. In connection with this work, he did evangelistic singing, and have been privileged to be with a number of our biggest and best preachers, and was considered to be one of the best singers and directors in Arkansas and Oklahoma. He has written nearly one hundred gospel songs, have been associate author on 25 song books, and have compiled 12 books of my own. 150,000 copies of my books have gone into thirty-five states. He began preaching in 1915, and have had nine years of successful local church work, besides many revival meetings in the ten states
