Review:
I don't read much true crime anymore as my tolerance for violence has greatly diminished over the years. I enjoy more of a police procedural than blood and guts. This book has both. Paul Williams certainly can write true crime well. Police work was very detailed and interesting. That was the reason I could not put down the book once I started. Williams doesn't fill his pages with unnecessary details like what cops looked like,how many kids they have and where their great- great grandparents were from, like many crime writers tend to do.
Upon finishing I read a few reviews on other sites where others felt story was disgusting and Williams shouldn't have written about it. Yes, at times it was absolutely horrible and I did lose a nights sleep, but this review is about the writing and how the story was told. Well done on both counts.
Knowing what I know now I have asked myself would I have chosen to have read it. I honestly don't know. But, I do think people need to know what they are getting themselves into so they can decide, as the book jacket gives no indication.… (lisätietoja)
