Christian Helmut Wenzel

Decided to start adding my 'work books' to this list. Only the ones I completely finish will qualify--the ones where I read a chapters here and there still won't count. That feels like cheating.

Wenzel's book is just an introductory text, but there's some good commentary as well (e.g. on mathematics and the beautiful). The 'further reading' references at the end of each section are also helpful, for students and more experienced scholars alike. Instead of just a list of texts, Wenzel offers little comments on the content and relevance of each--like an annotated bibliography, but organized by subject. A great starting point for a literature survey on any one of the particular topics involved. This sort of thing would be a nice addition to the structure of standard philosophy texts, but even minor variations in form seem to be Not Done. What a pain.

OK, now I realize another reason I haven't been adding work books to Goodreads. The reviews are bo-ring...… (lisätietoja)
