I LOVED THIS BOOK!! I liked that Piper guarded her younger brother although he was a brat but he was her brat and the only family she had when her mom was murdered on the streets of Chicago, and her starving artist dad sent them both to live with a grandmother that she had never met. She did not plan to be on an island long and she would see her brother get settled then head back to Chicago and her BFF. I liked that Zane looked after Piper and acted like he had to hide his feelings for her once he first laid eyes on her at the country club where he worked. They had an oil and water relationship and they were always running into each other. There were dark secrets on the island and he tried to keep her from knowing that there were bad things that go bump in the night. I CAN'T WAIT TO READ BOOK TWO!!… (lisätietoja)

Made it about 25% of the way through this book and I'm done. So far very little has happened. There is obviously hinting at a big secret, but the writing is just not for me. And the MC is way too much 'moody teenager' for my tastes. I mean, if I want to deal with a moody teen, I'll just work up my 9 going on 16-year-old daughter. Also, I think the author was trying for the hot but mean bad boy thing with Zane. But I just wasn't feeling it. Everything about what I read so far felt like the author was just trying too hard.… (lisätietoja)

No, no, no, no, no. That cliffhanger!

Turmoil is fan-flipping-tastic! I absolutely love that JL Weil is branching out and writing different genres...this one was a definite win. I've read a few High school/College Bully romances and some have worked and some just had me scratching my head. This book absolutely WORKED! The characters' actions and reactions are completely believable for the setting they're in.

I really cannot wait for what happens next (thankfully the next book arrives in July!) 'cause that was a helluva cliffhanger, JL.

I LOVE seeing how Karina aka "Kitten" gains each tail turning her into the kitsune she's meant to become. Along with each tail she also seems to gain more insight and information into what is going on in the other realm (Second Moon). I for one am holding out hope she can save her mother as this illness is tied to the dying of her mother's birthplace. This is DEFINITELY a series one needs to read from the beginning. Otherwise you'd be lost as to all the subtext what is going on. I'm still. curious about Devyn as there seems to be something he's not saying in regards to rules about their relationship. He's overprotective and jealous, yet keeps her at a certain distance...something is going on. I'm a huge fan of the introduction of Belle the fairy in this book. Here's hoping she's a true friend and not out to stab K in the back. Talk about lots of court intrigue and politics...and it's all from a world that Karina hasn't even stepped foot on yet. I'm also curious if maybe her next door neighbor/male BFF may have a role in all this. I guess we shall have to wait and see. I'm looking forward to the next book and how she gains her next tail....not to mention what exciting power comes along with the tail. I can't wait to see what happens next in this excitng, suspense filled series!!… (lisätietoja)
