I got this book to read and review from the Paranormal Romance & Urban Fantasy Fanatics! Going in, I expected nothing from it and the beginning didn't disappoint me. Too many alien terms were thrown at me and the dialogues didn't mean anything since I didn't understand what was going on. But boy, did that change! The book turned into an adventure and I enjoyed every minute of it. (There was even a griffin..or two!) If I find myself yelling at a character for dying(or being stupid..yes you Mefina), I know I liked the book. I yelled quite a few times while reading this one. I'll definitely be waiting for the sequel.… (lisätietoja)

I got this book to read and review from the Paranormal Romance & Urban Fantasy Fanatics!

My name is Constance and this story starts the day I was ripped apart. “ This was how the book began!

What I liked about it:
the beginning, of course.
the way the teenagers kept squabbling even when they got their powers– it didn’t change the fact that they were just kids.
Maria and her issues made the story more believable-finding you have superpowers doesn’t turn you into a saint.
the absence of any love triangles– or even a love interest. It was refreshing to read a YA book without those.

The story will be fun to read by youngsters.
A good beginning to surely an interesting series.

This review was written for LibraryThing Member Giveaways.
Arthur Wells is dreading the fact that his best friend Emily Fey is moving away. Arthur doesn't know anything about what means to be an Ord or Ordinary, what a Shimmer is, or about alchemy either. All that changes when a fairy carrying a book crashes into Arthur and Emily. Now Arthur's world is turned upside down and more. Widder Wells former ally of Morty in exile tries to protect his son from Morty's evil. Mr. Ambrose Crick becomes Arthur's guardian and introduces him to the world of alchemy. When Arthur and new friend Kaleb make a spectacular showing at auditons to Cadbury Academy. Arthur is thrust into a world that holds little understanding and much frustration. As Arthur applies himself to his studies finds that he's an outcast not of his own making. When Arthur learns that his father has been kidnapped by Morty. He sets about winning his father's freedom with the help of his friends. Why has Morty kidnapped Widder? Can Arthur save his father? Can Arthur use his alchemy? Your answers await you in Merlin's Tomb.

This is whimsical fantasy tale told from main characters point of view. I thought the story and characters were well written and unique. This is just the type of adventure book I would have read as child even into adulthood. I would definitely read more of this author's work in the future.

Stone Bearers by R.E. Washington

R.E. Washington is an extremely talented author her writing style was so easy to read and the words flowed so well that before you know it your on the last page wanting more. Her descriptions were not overly done and you were engaged throughout the story. R.E. Washington starts off this book showing us the readers what it is like to be bullied and the effects it has on not just yourself but your close friends. The issue of bullying and the affects it has on young people today is a very important topic and R.E. writing and reactions were very realistic and handled with care and passion. Excellent writing!

So the story starts off around the bullying and Constance telling off a few people for not doing anything when they see this occur. When a teacher approaches the scene he sentences all 5 of the youths to detention, during the dentition chaos breakouts and Constance ends up saving the 4 other youth lives by an unusual manner.

Now Constance, Maria, Avery, Danielle, and Jonathon have to work together to learn to fight and keep each other safe. But can the bullies and bullied work together can they form trust enough to keep each other alive. Can Constance step up and be the leader of this mixed group and keep her friends from killing each other.

The Stone Bearers is a YA Paranormal novel, and I cannot wait for book 2 to be released to see what will happen next to this mixed group of young people. Also like to thank R.E. Washington for giving us at Paranormal Romance & Urban Fantasy Fanatics R2R Group a copy of your book to review. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys YA Paranormal novels.
