So many books about butterflies and moths do not include their caterpillar stage. I understand why and am really glad that this book is available. It's organized by the type of moth or butterfly it will become (brushfoot, blues etc) and also by worm type (hornworm) and characteristics of the caterpillar itself (red lined, red humped, pink striped). Many of the species have similar larva stages an so many that look alike are grouped together. The photographs are excellent and there are helpful pictures of the adults as well. The text includes ID tips, food sources, where they occur and field notes about cocoons and the adults forms. Altogether a terrific book, except that I still can't ID a caterpillar I found years ago in NH. Poo.… (lisätietoja)
