I highly doubt that the techniques in this book will completely fix all of my health problems as the author suggests. That being said, I do believe that many of these exercises will be helpful in my struggles with anxiety and migraine issues. only time will tell, but I do feel good about what I've learned

Updated review:
Dr. Vranich makes a convincing case that the way you breathe has a huge impact on your health, well-being, and even athletic performance. Having a backing of research studies helps solidify some of the arguments presented here. However, after reading The Oxygen Advantage, I do feel that some of the principles in this book don't quite hold up to the light of scientific scrutiny. She dismisses the evidence that high altitude training can be beneficial for performance and seems to have longevity effects. The Bohr Effect (the importance of carbon dioxide in the body) is not noted at all either, and this seems a crucial oversight.

That said, the main message here -- you should breathe from the belly/diaphragm, and through your nose -- is on point. For a more advanced look at the relevant science, and particularly for athletes looking to optimize performance, I'd recommend The Oxygen Advantage instead, though.
