Sets up several mysteries, but does not resolve any of them. Most notably, after making an exciting discovery in a video game in Chapters 1-14 & 1-15 (ending page 188) the book goes on for another 117 pages without returning in any meaningful way to the video game. Clearly a book structured to exist only as part of a series.

Very rich in science fiction and fantasy culture references, in a way reminiscent of Ready Player One.
