Emily Victoria

This was a full bodied young adult fantasy novel. I love the fact that Emily Victoria was able to tell the entire story in one book, it made the book engaging and entertaining. I love that Karis picks up more companions as the story continues and makes some good and bad choices in her attempt to save her brother. I also love that Karis being aro-ace doesn't end up falling in love with Alex but I liked the romances happening with the supporting characters. Looking forward to reading more of Emily Victoria's books in the future.… (lisätietoja)

My kind of tale here. Devlin is a mix of bravery, derring-do, and fear. That fear, mostly that she'll disappoint her powerful mother who is a spy, is so paralyzing it frequently stops her from telling the truth. The world she lives in is being savaged by a thick monster-filled mist that was created when two sisters who were queens, had a disagreement over magic and things went bad. Her kingdom, Aris, is taking the brunt of damage, mostly because their magic workers have been weakened by a constant need to recharge barriers and fight the terrible beasts lurking inside the mist.
When she's sent to kidnap a powerful magic user in the other kingdom, she's at first determined to follow her mother's orders, but the longer she's there and gets to know Alyse, the murkier her mission becomes. What eventually unfolds makes for an exciting and very satisfying story. It's an excellent book for school and public libraries to own.… (lisätietoja)
