This book is about a little girl who is making a paperchain to think about and display all the things she is thankful for. She is thankful for big things like her heart that beats and little things like things that are warm, like soup or color! It is a sweet story that sparks joy and gets readers thinking about all the things they are thankful for both large and small.

Three girls' lives intersect through a "treasure box" in the library's lost and found. Artist Jada has moved to Utah with her dad, Patrick, but misses her mom, who left the family, and her grandma, who they left behind in New Jersey. Harp player Malia worries that when her mom has a baby, her family will love her less. And Grace's anxiety frequently keeps her from using her voice at all, though she loves expressing herself in writing. Chapters cycle through the three girls' stories as they exchange "treasures" through the library book/box, helped along the way by an old librarian called Hazel. In the end, they are able to get clarity on their situations and make the best of things, and start a new school with new friends.

Sweet, realistic, just a little bit magical.

"I love your baby just as much as I love you. Not just the same, but just as much. Does that make sense?" (226)

Three girls each find a mysterious treasure box in their library. Despite never having met, a delightfully unexpected bond forms between the girls. This book will keep you on your toes as the girls *almost* meet each other many times.
