A High Sierra Christmas by Mark Stephen Taylor
Wow what a story about the high sierra mountains and the story of Jeremiah Jackson.
So many details and descriptions of the area and the times, the basic things that you can always fall back on.
Learned so many things about Indians and the way of the world up on the mountain.
Love how the girl speaks to the bank robbers, never thought I'd see that happening. They even mention other trail blazers: Muir, etc.
How they have each others back is quite amazing and the animals that they have all learned from.… (lisätietoja)

The Anasazi occupied much of the Four Corners region (southeastern Utah, northeastern Arizona, northwestern New Mexico, and southwestern Colorado) where they developed the pueblo structures of large complexes which combined residential and religious use. Eventually, the Anasazi began to build and live in complexes on the sides of hills and cliffs. They were prosperous until the mid-fifteenth century when they vanished without a trace.

John Sparks, also called White Eagle, is from the Navajo nation. White Eagle claims to be a descendant of the Anasazi. He approached Rod Florea, to ask him for his and his friend Mitch Holland’s help in finding the trail the Anasazi took when they left their cliff homes in the Chaco Canyon. He believes when they trace the trail, they will find clay tablets with the record of the journey

Mark Stephen Taylor has taken this historical information and built the story of a treasure hunt by Rod Florea, Mitch Holland, and White Eagle. Action and adventure as they are challenged by corrupt anthropologist Eugene Davis and other corrupt government officials who want to stop them.

Though the descriptions are breath-taking; the dialogue between characters is stiff and stilted i.e. “me tarzan, you jane”. If it were not for the subject matter, the Anasazi, I would have not read past the first few pages.
