This is a cheating book.
It deals with two couples, one where the husband is cheating with the other man's wife.
It deals with sensitive topics and there is discussion about intimacy.
The cheating is going on throughout the story and we spend the majority of the time in the innocent wife's POV.
The innocent pair in the book also form an emotional bond, becoming good friends, though never physically acting on anything, in fact making a conscious decision not to.
But is it emotional cheating? That's left to the reader to decide.
It is set in a strict religious background for the husband who is cheating.
I felt this could detract slightly from the issue as the wife's naivety is blamed a bit on the issues the husband has and why he strays.
I found it a bit frustrating she didn't confront him sooner, but it again is blamed slightly on her role under their relationship and the church's expectations.
Never once did it deal with the consequences of the husband from the church for being a cheater, what they would think of him, would he loose respect, etc...
The other couple had more issues as to why they stayed together, which was more understandable.
HEA?
For some. Some characters grew and learnt from mistakes.
I would have liked a bit from Noahs POV at the end.
Some humour, some honest talking and no intimate scenes as such but discussions on intimacy and sex.… (lisätietoja)

I liked this story. It was kind of crazy and i laughed out loud at some parts. The dialogue between the two brothers is sooo funny.
The conversation with his mum and the unhappy couple is hilarious. The way he works to get her back is sweet and the fact she feels its too late and it won't last is realistic.
The wife feels ignored as their relationship has changed and he barely listens to her and belittles her views. They are very different, he is organised and a company man, she is a hippie type into alternative therapies. The things that drew them together also cause issues, this is how things can be between couples particularly over time, instead of looking at things in a positive way foibles irritate.
I really enjoyed.
I wasn't keen on her pursuing another relationship while still married but the author explains this as she views the marriage has been over for 2 years, its just she has only just left and divorce is filed so she feels so neglected and negative about herself she is trying to move on with her life. The problem is the husband has only just become aware their relationship has ended, he thought they were okay.
The scene where he follows her on a date is hilarious.… (lisätietoja)

I loved this novel! It had everything in it; romance, greed, sisters, murder, gold and the author twisted it all together so perfectly! She did such a good job winding all of the characters together and bringing everything full circle. This novel is written through the view points of all three sisters and the reason they deserve daddy’s cold hard gold!

Tabitha is the oldest, cut ties off when she was married young to an older man. She does not need her fathers gold, and she despises her father for her childhood, and her marriage but she has her reasons for why she should have it.

Morgan ran off when she was young, was taken under the wing of a newspaper man and the two have fallen in love but are still struggling to get their footing in the newspaper/reporting world. Her new fiancé has just been accused or rape and murder and Morgan just found out she is pregnant with their first child. She has more need than the other two for needing the gold. Her husband is innocent and she needs the gold for a lawyer and for them to grow their newspaper.

Verity has her own different agenda and seems to be the more greedy of the other two sisters and will stop at nothing to get what she believes is hers, and hers alone. She has a few tricks up her sleeve, and will use anything and anyone to get what she wants over the other two.

Their father claims he struck gold on his second time out west, but most people think he was just talking crazy or the gold he struck was fools gold, and not the real thing. Can the three girls through his journal and riddle find where he hid the real stuff, was there even any real gold to begin with or was he truly mad as the town thought?

The three sisters, with a slew of other shady characters all constantly are trying to stay one step ahead of the others as they traverse out west, and then back to their homeland in Georgia where it all started with his death. Who will win out in the end, and what will the consequences be along the way?

Very good, fast paced read. As I said above, the author did such a good job of twisting all of the characters together and weaving them throughout the story line. Thank you to the author for the free book for review, and Historical Fiction Virtual Book Tours for the invite!… (lisätietoja)
