In this book we get to see a collection of poems that are rhythmic. We also see this can be used when talking about shapes. Its a great connection between shapes and poetry. I think this can be used in primary level elementary, as the poems are simple and they rhyme, can be sang to children, or clapped along to. Primary levels also are in the process of learning about shapes and about the world around them so I would say this would be great for that!

This book is geared towards older elementary students.

This book shares a bunch of fun poems. Some are short and some are longer and each talk about different insects. It follows along with something they do or a big part of their life. This book would be good to use to share bits and parts during a science lesson or when learning about certain bugs.

I don't really enjoy reading poetry because it's some time tricky to readers. As one reader might get a different meaning than another. But in this book a poetry about winter and snow falling I loved the poem on page 15 "snow on the trees." When Jane Yolen said " somebody painted the trees last night.. white on white." She is saying "somebody" made the trees white with snow. That's creative and cute and she does this through out the book. I think kids would love this book also.

This was a very interesting book about snow and the things you can do in the snow. The first thing I noticed about the book was that most of the words rhyme, which I think is something that children will pick up on too rather quickly. I love how the book describes what winter is and the things that we can do in the winter and in the snow. It gives a few different ideas on what to do, like snowboarding, and building a snowman. I think that this is a good book to read to children when learning about the different types of weather, and it helps children use their imagination if they have never seen or felt snow before. It is very descriptive and I think that that is very important when reading to children and helping them to understand the topic and to help them to use their imagination.… (lisätietoja)
