Michael R. Steele (–1945)

Michael R. Steele has taught at Pacific University in Oregon since 1975 and is the Distinguished Professor of Humanities and Peace Studies there. He holds a doctorate from Michigan State but spent his undergraduate years at Notre Dame, graduating in 1967. There he developed a love for Irish näytä lisää football that has resulted in research and books about Irish football over the last two decades. In 1983, his bio-bibliography of Knute Rockne was published, which later became a resource for a PBS documentary on the famous coach. He has also published two editions of The Fighting Irish Football Encyclopedia and is currently working with former Irish head coach Dan Devine on his autobiography as well as his second book on the Holocaust.
