So DC Comics got innovative for a change, and invited various highly-respected writer/artists to submit one-shot graphic stories, some of which feature established DC characters, some not. It's a sumptuous collection of stories, a few excellent, most very good, one or two clunkers. The artists I'm familiar with include Tim Sale, Richard Corben, Howard Chaykin, Darwyn Cooke, and (pleasant shock) Sergio Aragones. There are several others whose names I didn't know, most of them quite good. Tim Sale and Darwyn Cooke are my favorites here, but Sergio Aragones is a real hoot. The genres include Super-heroes, Horror, Romance, Suspense, Western, and probably just about any other genre that the comic book medium has treated. Quite a fascinating compilation.… (lisätietoja)
