What lessons can we learn today from the Dreyfus Affair? What part does it play – or should it play – in the history of the Jews? Jacqueline Rose will offer a new interpretation of Dreyfus, while also investigating what the affair tells us about the public role of the intellectual and writer in our times. Jacqueline Rose’s work ranges across feminism, psychoanalysis, literature and politics. Her books include 'Sexuality in the Field of Vision', 'The Haunting of Sylvia Plath', 'The Question of Zion', 'On Not Being Able to Sleep: Psychoanalysis' and the Modern World', and 'The Last Resistance'. 'Conversations with Jacqueline Rose' will be published in June, and 'The Jacqueline Rose Reader' next year. A regular writer for the London Review of Books, she also wrote and presented the TV documentary 'Dangerous Liaison: Israel and America', is a co-founder of Independent Jewish Voices, and the joint editor of 'A Time To Speak Out – Independent Jewish Voices on Israel, Zionism and Jewish Identity'. A fellow of the British Academy, she is professor of English at Queen Mary University of London.
