The proceedings of an amazing November 4-7,1996 gathering at Pendle Hill of the alumni, and spouses of alumni of the Civilian Public Service (CPS) camps operated during World War II. Participants in CPS camps offered an extraordinary witness for peace at a time of grave crisis and devastating war, and this conference provided an opportunity to reflect on their experiences. The exploration that occurred was both historically significant and deeply moving in human terms.
