I like this series a lot and I appreciate how the author explores kink throughout. Although I really enjoyed this book I think it could have used to trimming - a lot of internal dialogue was unnecessary. I can see how the author wanted to illustrate what was happening in the kink scenes, but it felt a bit wordy at times.

James and Amanda are 51 and 46 years old respectively. They've been together for 14 years and they fit together well.

This book kicks off with one of the hottest scenes I've read, in which a regular evening at home evolves into humiliation play, something Amanda and James have never explored. They are surprised at how much they enjoy the experience and decide to pursue the new possibilities it opens up.

As the story proceeds James plans a series of "scenes", each one pushing boundaries for both of them. The events are spaced out, allowing plenty of time for both partners to process their feelings and discuss, together and separately with friends in "the lifestyle", what works for them and what doesn't.

This is the second book in a series in which each instalment focuses on a different couple. I didn't realise this when I started reading - I don't feel I missed out on anything in reading out-of-order but I'm definitely going to catch up on the first one.

Ok, first off, I loved the wit and humor of this book. Some good dialog and quirky personalities. But, I felt the book read like filler. There was so much useless information in the book, like a nearly 'real-time' pasta making scene. Where she talks in detail about waiting for the pot to boil, adding the noodles, et cetera... I felt like I was waiting for the pot to boil!! There was a lot of that all over the place. It was so full of useless scenes that I ended up skim reading a whole bunch. So, I loved the humor, I liked the characters, and the plot wasn't bad, but I wasn't really impressed with the book at all. Not at all. And a side note, I don't see the connection to the book and the cover, just thought I'd mention that!… (lisätietoja)
