The last 1/4 of the book was well worth reading the rest of the book for. Much of this novel is a bit slower than an average book, but I found it nonetheless enjoyable. Not quite a fireside or rainy day read, but one to pick up and put down repeatedly. I kept it in my bag and read it at bus stops or in waiting rooms over the course of a week or so. Still, I liked it. Hoping Mr. Moss writes more fiction in the future.

Received this book as part of the Early Reviewers program. The story started off very slow and it was hard to keep interest in the book, then the middle was bogged down by page after page of "committee hearings", but then the last third of the book kicked into overdrive and made it worth the wait.

Eh. This book never caught my attention at all. I started several times, but, just couldn't get into it. The premise was convoluted and the beginning was just not that much of an attention-grabber.

I am sorry to say that this review is based on only the first 53 pages. I simply could not continue! The plot is unbelievable, with a private detective being hired to raise millions of dollars of investmant capital. Now, who in their right minds would hire a private eye to do such a thing? In addition, the portrayal of American Samoa is way off base. I doubt that Mr. Moss has even been to Samoa, but since I have, I know that his portrayal of the island as well as Samoans is far from the truth.
