Faye is a teenager and ends up not-so dead, a wraith, which before this book I had not heard of, apparently they are very similar to vampires but don’t suck on blood, instead going for human essence.
She is the youngest in the group of wraiths and when one is killed they have to find out who did it.
This book has it all, paranormal, mystery, a love interest and kept me interested with the different elements. I am not going to go into real detail as that would spoil it for those wanting to listen or read it. But it was well thought out, the world and character detail was great and the author did a wonderful job describing it.

The narrator made this flow so well, her voice was pleasant to listen to.

Ending on a cliffhanger leaving you eager for the next installment.

It was a great start to a series.

I always enjoy reading Isaiyan Morrison's book books. Remy had a privileged life pretty much getting what he wanted until one night changed in a blink of an eye. This is a dark book about a life changing turning into something completely different. You feel Remy's emotions ranging from love , hate, anger, confusion, betrayed and more. This is a new and exciting book with never a dull moment, I recommend reading it

Though this is not for the faint of heart but I really enjoyed this book. The emotions feel so real that it's like it's coming straight from you. Isaiyan Morrison makes you think about all that Maris went thru before her life as Deamhan and also all the changes that new life will bring her. If you enjoy vampires stories and want something a little different , then this is for you.

I received this digital copy from Xpresso Book Tours in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of this book in any way.

This was honestly really bad, but not in a particularly funny way, so I had zero motivation to continue. It's cliche, full of tropes and unrealistic dialogue. The writing is so immature and...off? Like, it felt like I was reading a computer's rendition of a YA novel after it consumed a decade's worth of material, but written in a different language and then translated awkwardly using Bing Translator. Actions versus dialogue were so awkward and stop-starty:
"You aren’t going to stay cooped up in the house on your birthday." She walked to the car.
"I’m just not in the mood." I followed her. She unlocked the doors.
"When are you ever in the mood to do anything?" We climbed in and she started the car.
"I’ll be in the mood when you and Dad stop forcing me to celebrate my birthday." I fastened my seatbelt.
The whole book is written like: "I am speaking." I am doing a thing. "I am speaking again." "I am responding." They did a thing.

And the logic of certain sections was so strange:
I remembered little to nothing. How could I when I was only a baby when she passed away shortly after giving birth to me?
Why on earth am I being told this in this way? Why would I assume she might have some memories of her mother if she literally died during childbirth?? "Little to nothing"??? What is that supposed to mean? This girl has memories of her own birth?

The world building was okay. The world itself wasn't anything I haven't seen a million times before. Think [b:Vampire Academy|345627|Vampire Academy (Vampire Academy, #1)|Richelle Mead|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1361098973s/345627.jpg|335933] but with wizards. The characters were entirely forgettable. I got almost halfway through a chapter before I realized I wasn't in the perspective I thought I was.

If this had been edited more, and there had been a lot more beta reading and critiquing, then it probably wouldn't have been so terrible.

If you want an amalgamation of YA cliches, then read Jennifer L Armentrout's [b:Half-Blood|9680718|Half-Blood (Covenant, #1)|Jennifer L. Armentrout|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1311865840s/9680718.jpg|14568639] instead. It's actually enjoyable.
