He then joined the Harvard faculty in 1902 as Parkman Professor of Theology (1902-1915) and then Plummer Professor of Christian Morals (1915-1929). While at the Divinity School, Moore taught courses largely in post-Reformation theology, spanning from Kant to William James. In 1915 Moore became the Plummer Professor at the Harvard Divinity School and the chairman of the University's Board of Preachers.
Moore also displayed a great interest in Christian missionary activity, and participating in post-World War I Christian relief efforts in Turkey.
He retired in 1929.
