I enjoy history...in case I haven't said that before on my blog. Two things that attracted me to this book: bicycles, and Chattanooga.

My oldest son used to be really in to bicycling, but isn't so much any more. Last year my two teens did a lot of bicycling with our church group. They even did a 50-mile bike ride one Sunday.

I know the Chattanooga area well. I attended a boarding school nearby by during my high school years, and we have a Seventh-day Adventist university in the area as well.

I found it fascinating to learn about the history of cycling, along with the fight for women's rights in the late 1800s. If you have an interest in history, cycling, the historical fight for women's rights, you will want to check out this book.

What a great concept for a story, and filled with historical information, along with compassion, and foraging for woman’s rights.
Can you even imagine that riding a bicycle would do more than keep you in shape? Well if we listen to those who wanted to keep woman in their place, in the home and not seen, we sure would resemble something from another world.
This book brings back some really ugly facts, the old Jim Crow laws, and the consequences and depravation of human life. What a wonderful job the author did of bringing all of these horrible but true times in American history, a time that most would like forgotten. We also travel the fields of Civil War Battles, and are reminded of that time, a few short years prior.
There is also a bit of romance here but will the ones you find yourself rooting for end up together, or will the plots of others tare them apart?
A period of time to get lost in, the Gay ‘90’s, and a time when woman begin fighting for rights, a don’t miss story!
I received this book through Litfuse Publicity Book Tours, and was not required to give a positive review.

I enjoyed this book so much more than I thought I would. The author is new to me and his writing style is refreshing! The characters within the book really spoke to me and came alive as I followed young Anne and Peter throughout this story. I felt as if I was the one in the middle of it all. I love when a book does that to me. This book is filled with life lessons of having faith, hope, perseverance and relying on the Lord above.

Young Anne, bless her. I could see a lot of my own stubborn self in her! She’s a sweet soul and wouldn’t take being told no she couldn’t do something for an answer! She was going to do it and that was that. A woman in the south riding a man’s contraption! Unheard of, but not for Anne! She was going to ride and not be stopped. It was interesting seeing the events of that played out, especially knowing that in today’s society women can do just about anything they want to.

I loved Peter’s character, too. Watching him interact with Anne and the other characters was captivating. He struggled so much with what to do between what was right in his world and what his heart wanted…..Anne. When he came to terms with what he truly wanted, trusting in God and not judging, or listening to those who judged,I applauded him.

This book is rich in historic detail and really can transport the reader back into history, back to a time when women knew their place and kept their mouth shuts about it. Back to a time when women didn’t stand their ground and stand for what they truly believe in, especially in the deep south. This book is beautifully written and instantly captivating. It will leave the reader breathless and thinking about the characters long after the pages have been turned and the book shut and put away.

I definitely recommend this book with 5 stars! It’s going in me top reads for 2017, for sure! Hats off to Mike Mizrahi for creating a new fan in me! I can’t wait for another wonderfully written book by this extremely talented author!

I was so excited when I had the opportunity to read this book. The cover was intriguing and I just knew this would be a story filled with history and adventure. The author takes us to the late 1890s where women were just starting to find their voice. I really enjoyed the history that was spread throughout the book. He even had quotes from famous historical figures which I thought really added definition to the story.

Anna is a delightful character. She is recovering from an accident that has left her feeling unsure of herself. I loved watching her grow emotionally as she decides that she wants to cycle. I found it very interesting that cycling by women was frowned upon in those days. I'm sure it had to do with the attire Anna wore. The town was aghast at this young lady wearing bloomers and showing her legs. I loved this story so much because it brought up how much women had to fight for their rights. This story is really well written and delves into the spunk of a young lady who was determined to show people that women should be allowed to cycle with freedom.

There is another story going on in the book besides women's rights that I found was very powerfully written. Wait till you meet a woman and her children that live in what I can only describe as filth and deplorable conditions. Anna has a big heart and will do anything to help others. Will she be able to save this family? What will others think when they find out who the family is?

Throughout the story we meet characters that are so set in their ways they start to cause trouble for Anna. I can't imagine what it must have been like for women in this time period. They had to endure narrow minded people who wouldn't listen to anyone. I was quite surprised that several women were against Anna riding her bike. Most of them thought that a woman's place was at home, cooking, cleaning and raising children. The book is a real eye opener for me and made me realize how far we have come since the early days when women had no rights at all. Will Anna be banned from ridding her bike? How does all the gossip affect her? What happens when she meets Peter who is the president of the Cycling Club? Thank you for writing a story filled with history and a strong character who wasn't afraid to stand up for her rights.

Sometimes.... to want something is not enough. A fight may be necessary to achieve the desire of our hearts. The struggle can help us grow if that desire is pure. "

I received a copy of this book from LitFuse. The review is my own opinion.
