The rain-drenched moors near shamanistic counselor Sabbie Dare's home have become the scene of a chilling crime. When Detective Sergeant Reynard Buckley shows up suggesting her new client, Cliff Houghton—a wounded, broken man—has something to do with the body of a young boy found buried in the moors, Sabbie believes Cliff is being set up. Continuing the therapy she'd begun with Cliff, Sabbie uncovers repressed memories hearkening back to a decades-old string of abductions and murders. But after another boy is abducted, only Sabbie can prove Cliff's innocence . . . and find the real culprit before any more lives are shattered.

The third in the Shaman Mystery Series. I have liked all of them, and find this one a thoroughly enjoyable read. There's lots of suspense, and I like following the protagonist as she travels, not only in the shamanic worlds, but in the apparent world. I like the continuing story of her discovery of her birth family.

I didn't spot who did it in this thrilling murder mystery with a twist until the end, although I'd had a go. I loved the protagonist, she's a shaman but really down to earth, and also a very warming character who you felt really wanted to help her shamanic client, banged up for trial for murder of a young child. Sabbie Dare is a great new addition to my reading list and I'll be looking out for Nina Milton's next book in the Shaman Mystery series.
