This 1972 book was written for training people on the 1400 Series of IBM equipment. Case studies and examples come from the IBM 1401. The author discusses card sorters, collators, batch processing, storage issues, arithmetic and control registers, addition and subtraction, symbolic programming with the SPS Language, branching, loops, magnetic tape operations, and random access file processing. There is a final chapter on Decision Tables, FORTRAN, RPG, and COBOL.
