Pretty rough and tumble stuff. Makes you feel like you are on the job in the cold.

I did not enjoy Masiel's other book, but decided to give this one a try and thoroughly enjoyed it. The scene of the tug's knockdown is horrifyingly realistic and artfully described. A well-crafted sea story. Lots of interesting technical detail about life on ocean-going tugs in the Arctic. No one in their right mind lives in this environment - there's a touch of David Lynch to it.
