Lucas and Harper meet at a wedding and their immediate attraction has them heading for her hotel room. But Lucas is a widower and Harper is the first woman he's been with since his wife died, so it doesn't end well. Eventually, they meet again and can't deny their chemistry. But Harper is insecure and doesn't deal well with Lucas's past.
There are some sexy times between the two, but it takes a while for this couple to communicate other than their bodies. They're attractive and interesting people with a fun set of friends, a lot of whom apparently appeared in the earlier books of the series. This is definitely a stand-alone though and you don't need to have read the earlier books to know what's going on in this one. I especially enjoyed Harper's mother, a free-wheeling high-powered businesswoman who has a secret failed romance in her past (will we get to find out who her past love is - not Harper's father but the other one she mentions in passing?).
It's a quick read and a good one, full of emotion. These two opposites need some adjusting to find each other, but the epilogue gives a nice wrap-up.… (lisätietoja)
