This is a very strange book. The cover is upside down on the book and it isn't on the right side of the book. The back side of the book is in the front of the book. I'm not sure if this was intentional or not, but I'm pretty sure the publisher made a mistake when putting this book together. There is really no plot to this book and it doesn't really flow very well. However, the illustrations are interesting and drawn very well with colored pencils. I love all of the blending and color combinations that the illustrator put into his drawings. It is possible that each grouping of pages are supposed to be their own separate poem in the book. That would make a lot of sense of why they don't flow.

The teacher could use this book as a writing model by having the students write out things a particular animal or thing can to. The teacher could also have the students write it as a poem, if they are working on a poetry unit.… (lisätietoja)

I enjoyed Things To Do, which presents young children with a number of different perspectives and experiences, perhaps leading them to consider how all things are interrelated. My favorite poem was the one devoted to the honeybee - "Things to do if your are a HONEYBEE / Flit among flowers / Sip nectar for hours. / Be yellow and fuzzy. / Stay busy. / Be buzzy."
